Sabito Lives Aus

on the tin

Demon/Non-human Aus

sabito lives! almost

Vampire Sabito

Mission in a cave, on the way out Sabito's bitten by a bat. Over the course of a month or 2 he gets progressively worse with a mystery illness.
surprise!
his canines get pushed out by needleprick fangs, he gets second degree burns in the sun after mere moments, and he has a thirst for blood. well, hes not a demon at least.

Kitsune Sabito

Sabito dies during the final selection. He does not stay dead, he comes back to life out of the center of a split boulder on Mt. Sagiri. He looks mortal but his flesh is made of stone, and he has an imprint of his living memory but not the memories themselves.
(default 'reason' for his rebirth is generic divine intervention, the humans could use a little help)

alt: second slayer corps

Sabito is so astronomically pissed at dying during final selection that he comes back to life (once Tanjiro kills the hand demon his soul is tied to) to beat some sense into whoever the fuck is sending KIDS to their DEATH for no good reason.
They won't listen to a literal dead man walking??? FINE! ILL DO IT MY FUCKING SELF!
Sabito stalks the final selection grounds during test times and rescues kids who would otherwise fail die, and trains them for demon slaying properly. These slayers work seperately from the usual slayer corps

Demon Sabito - Heart

During their final selection, Sabito & Giyuu both fight the hand demon. Sabito's sword breaks, but the demon's hand is bleeding when it crushes his head- demon blood got in his wound. Giyuu's flagging fighting the hand demon on his own; bloodloss from his head wound, emotional/mental toll of his partner dying right in front of him, rapidly waning will to live, exhastion, etc. Sabito's head knits back together! Took him a while to get his bearings after having his bran scrambled so he gives the hand demon a taste of its own medicine, and giyuu beheads it. Giyuu passes out not expecting to wake up.
He wakes up! Demon licking his hair like an anxious cat stress grooming- but NOT eating him!! Hm

Demon Sabito - Obsession

Sabito becomes a demon (unknown/undecided how) and gets his everything scrambled by the demonification. Similar to Akaza with an inclincation for strength/strong opponents and a strict diet for a demon. Avoids weaker targets like women & children, eats opponents who aren't strong enough to stand against him. Individuals who can make a valiant last stand against him he toys with. He pushes them to the very brink then lets them live to recover in the hopes they'll cross paths to fight again and again and again.
Hes a wandering demon that doesn't have an established territory, and avoids fights with other demons because other demons arent inclined to frinedly sparring and he doesnt give a shit about territory or dominance fights.
Giyuu is a fixation of his. He doesn't know why he feels incredibly drawn to him, but hes further inclined towards him because hes so strong, and so fun to fight. He never gives up no matter how helpless/destroyed/pained he looks while they fight. Whenever Giyuu finally collapses from exhastion or his multitude of injuries, Sabito kicks his sword away and patches him up with whatever Giyuu has on him, mocking & praising, orders Giyuu to keep up with him.

"I don't wanna leave you behind, ne?"

Demon Sabito - Spider

Sabito becomes a demon (unknown/undecided how) and wanders onto Mt. Natagumo. He wiggles his way into being a role model and more genuine older brother figure to Rui

Dragon Sabito

Version A: were-dragon situation for 3 nights at the moon's peak
Version B: warding masks allow transformation into a dragon

Man of Many Masks

half-ghost, mute, mask acts as a cloak to mildly disguise his status as unliving, can switch between the facial expressions of all the fox warding masks. Sticks with Giyuu because thats what they were supposed to do. They were supposed to be slayers together. This is the closest they'll ever get to having that.

Waterpillar Roleswap

Giyuu dies during final selection instead, Sabito wears Giyuu's mask and hates being alive. Exploration of Sabito's personality in Giyuu's shoes

Last Light

Sabito & Giyuu both survive final selection, later in their career they run into the lower moon that would grant (one of?) them Hashira status and Giyuu gets a severe hit to the stomach.

Version A: Giyuu survives, they have an argument about who should become Hashira, (they each think it should be the other. 🫵NO U) Sabito goes behind his back and gives Kagaya an ultimatum: either both of them become Water Hashira or neither of them will.

Version B: Giyuu dies. Sabito's utterly fucking distraught. Giyuu's will/last letter for him said "I love you. Sorry I was never brave enough to tell you."

SickTwisted Ubuyashikis

Sabito survives but is injured badly enough he'd be unable to continue as a demon slayer, he pleads for them to send a hashira to kill the hand demon because its too strong to test prospective slayers. Hes denied, argues that they're intentionally feeding children to demons, still denied.

"No wonder your family is cursed."

Amane slaps him so hard his head snaps to the side. He laughs, because she just proved him right. They weren't cursed because of Muzan specifically, they were cursed because their attitude allowed someone like Muzan to happen in the first place. cruelty. The utter disregard for human life. They cant be rid of it until they actually care about other people, remembering every name in an attempt to feign genuine care isnt enough.

Kakushi/Trainer Sabito

Sabito survives the hand demon but is disabled to the point demon slaying directly would be too risky for him, but cleanup or first aid/rescue is fine. Still trains with Giyuu and hypes him up since they cant fight side by side like they wanted, stays stationed near wherever Giyuu is and frequently cleans/clears up after him. Once Giyuu becomes Hashira they move to the water estate and Sabito switches tracks to training Breath of Water users to a higher standard of mastery (like urokodaki sensei!). Well respected for his strength even though he can't actually fight demons; sparring against people who won't take advantage of his weakness to kill him is very different from fighting against demons who will actively seek out said weakness specifically to kill him. Its not worth throwing his life away when he can spend it doing something just as useful elsewhere

One Handed

Inspired by Nagare from Gotouge's oneshot from 2013 Kagarigari whom i firmly believe is a sort of ancestor/proto character to a few of the characters in Kimetsu no Yaiba, including Sabito. Sabito survives final selection but without his left arm from the mid-forearm down (Headcanon: left handed Sabito), Giyuu's sent off on missions while he recovers and retrains to one-handed swordsmanship for his non-dominant hand before joining him.

AfterAlt(ernative)

Giyuu's slayer mark is an utter curse. After the events of canon, he dies sometime when hes 25, but instead of staying dead or going to an afterlife, he wakes up 19 again. He goes through the entirety of the harrowing journey to kill the demon king once again with less fatalities in the slayer corps, they win, he once again passes at 25.

Giyuu wakes up 19.
again.
and again.
and again.

Nezuko's Revenge

Akaza kills Tanjiro during the Mugen Train fight. Nezuko is the last Kamado alive. Muzan has taken everything from her. her family. her humanity. her big brother. She will kill him.

Storyline

AUs that don't happen within the canon setting, but still contain (varying levels of faithfulness to) the canon storyline; or, adapting kny's storyline into another anime's

Modern Aus

on the tin

Giyuus Fucking Sad au

Childhood bestfriends turned lovers, just bought a house and planned to become marine biologists together, but Sabito falls ill due to some sort of heart disease and dies, Giyuu develops an intense depression. Eventually he tries to work toward their shared dream, for Sabito's sake. Some people force their way into his life with cheer despite his general debbie downer nature

GFs Variant: Sabito survives! permanently disabled by it though (im thinking POTS? dunno). genderfuckery, play on how my shorthand GFS au looks like Girlfriends au, everyones girlfriend now, yuri central

Werewolves au

Giyuu gets involved with some shady shit in an attempt to help pay bills with Tsutako, goes wrong and he gets attacked and blacks out thinking hes definitely gonna die. Wakes up in a puddle of gore and some of his own blood; gets picked up by Gyomei & Tengen then patched up by Kanae & Shinobu who are all part of some sort of werewolf help group that he ends up joining. Gets put in a team with Sanemi & Obanai. Ends up meeting a weird pink wolf out on his own and finds out that childhood friend he moved away from was a werewolf the entire time, what a coincidence they find eachother again

Crossover Aus

on the tin

Tokyo Ghoul Au (wip)

Nezuko fills the role of Kaneki as an accidental half-ghoul, Tanjiro her still human older brother who just wants to keep her safe, above everything. Neuzko in denial about it at first, until she starts to lose herself to her hunger and starts running toward something that smells good, Tanjiro following, worried about her getting hurt. Her nose leads them to Genya, a ghoul with yellow eyes, crouched over his kill. Nezuko has a breakdown. Genya politely tries to offer a bite, but Kaigaku enters the scene and kicks him around for hunting in 'his territory'. Giyuu arrives, kicks Kaigaku's ass, realizes Tanjiro's a human, that Nezuko's only half ghoul, and approaches to question them. Tanjiiro stands in front of her protectively, and politely demands he stop approaching her, Giyuu sits to placate him, Genya realizes Tanjiro's human and nervously watches, Nezuko valiantly denying that shes a ghoul. Giyuu says shes neither a ghoul or human, something else entirely. Genya pipes up that he's not a normal ghoul either, she's not alone- that catches her attention. They chat for a bit before Genya tentitively asks if they'd not... report him as a ghoul... since Tanjiro's clearly still 100% human.
"Of course not! You've been nothing but polite to us!"
This finally convinces Giyuu of his stance on the situation- he cares deeply about his little sister, going so far as to tolerate other ghouls for her sake, and even worse, go up against one as just a normal human to keep her safe. He escorts the pair to their cafe and tries as gently as possible to explain what being a ghoul will be like for her, Sakonji taking over once they actually arrive. While talking about their new reality, Sabito comes in from his rounds pissed off about something or other that happened. He slaps his mask on the table while ranting about it, then suddenly stops as he registers that theres Kids here, and that hes being Scary. At first hes shocked about Tanjiro, his eyes shifting to white; then he notices Nezuko, "Woah... How'd that happen?"
Giyuu, "I wasnt going to ask about that yet."
"Ah, sorry. You can... keep on..." he awkwardly focuses on quietly arranging his shit.

Tanjiro & Nezuko end up hired as new servers, alongside Sabito Giyuu & Makomo, and barkeep Sakonji.
Giyuu is much more air-headed than their intense first encounter suggested, a quiet but polite personality, his blank/airy resting face is hard to decipher most the time. Only time you'll see that change is when he steps out of his passive presence and between troublesome customers & whomever theyre bothering with a scathing scowl.
Similarly, Sabito is much less intimidating with his usual silly and upbeat personality, he's easy to read with how expressive he intentionally is, bright crecent-eyed smiles and full-body gesturing while he speaks. A one-man comedy show, hes bright and loud, constantly drawing attention to himself and thus away from those under his care. Though unlike Giyuu his intial introduction wasn't as far off from his usual, he's quick to drop the theatrics and snap his teeth in warning at whomever's warranted his negative attention. Intimidating expression exacerbated by the large scar along his cheek and how he looms even above figures bigger & taller than him, he's fiercely protective of those he considers his, willing and ready to bodily remove aggressive patrons from the cafe.
Makomo is a nice middle ground between the boys, bubbly and playful but exceedingly kind, shes a calm, grounding presence and controls the atmosphere with subtlety. She positionts herself and the others where they can work with the least amount of friction, as well as talking circles around annoying customers into either shutting up or blowing up and giving Sabito a reason to remove them.
Sakonji is usually content with allowing the trio free reign while he focuses on making coffee of the highest quality, only stepping in with grave seriousness during particularly egregious incidents, or a playful/mocking 'serious' to shout at Sabito for 'scaring customers away with your barking' or Makomo & Giyuu for slacking off.

[incomplete]

Character Only

AUs that are so far removed from canon that its not possible to be very faithful. realm of extreme levels of headcanon, 'out of character' is subjective at this point

Modern Aus

on the tin

Frat House

University au, rich kid Tengen pays for communal housing with all his friends. funsies au

Stardew Valley

Hopeless romantic Sabito gets dumped after a particularly bad relationship & decides to fuck off out of the city into a decrepit farm in the town his grandpa (Urokodaki) lives in. Impulse control isn't his strong suit. He misses his best friend really badly. fumbling around in the wild like some sort of hermit is a ...neat change of pace in his life. the tiny cabin that came with the property doesnt have a shower though. that sucks a lot actually.

Mermaid aus

couple different variants of mermaid aus, in general mermaids are a whole like actual THING. chordata> vertebrata> gnathostomata (aka, jawed fishes. here irl it splits into chondrichthyes: cartilaginous fish & osteichthyes: bony fish) speculative biology interest rearing its head. class of fish that happened to develop front halves that look strikingly like humans. ice thin excuse lol. theres also the usual magic half fish half human mermaid schtick, but i like the whole seperate class of sapient animals bit more

usually centered around a marine wildlife center, some well established aquarium that does marine research and wildlife rehabilitation; well-equipped to take care of mermaids in the event of injury or malice. depending on variant, staff and mermaid roles are moved around

Earth2Echo

based off the 2014 movie; Giyuu is visiting the seaside grave of his childhood best friend who fell off the cliff, ends up finding a capsule of an advanced mechanical alien species who needs help getting parts to repair itself. He names it Makomo, and ends up going on a wild goose chase for parts and away from the government, with the help of Sanemi & Genya

Golden Light

space au! Sabito gets kidnapped off the street one night and ends up in a spacer trafficking ring. humanity isn't in the space age and the wider galactic community have a strict no-contact rule for non-space age sophonts, so Sabito can never go come to Earth again. I like thinking of the spacer tech and Sabito adapting to a new environment with little understanding of anyone around him

lots of variants- for mainline Golden Light, Sabito gets shoved with a seal/ferret-like alien he bonds with and names Giyuu. Giyuu names Sabito in his own tongue too, it means 'Golden Light' after the G-type golden yellow star at the center of his home solar system. Association to both a gentle warmth and burning bite, like how Sabito's gentle with him despite his larger stature but fiercely protective when they're in danger

(real life reason: story vibe influenced by Golden Light (STRFKR) and i didnt want to forget au-song associations yet again. cant forget which song its associated with if they share the fuckin name lmao)

Silver Light

rougher/angstier line, Sabito doesn't meet Giyuu so early in his capture and is deeply affected by the abuse and isolation he experiences at the hands of his traffickers. In the orignal variant that coined the name, his name translates to 'Silver Light' based off how he violently killed his 'owner' with a makeshift blade, the silver light glinting off its jagged edge before he struck. In general he's much more volatile and aggressive than mainline Golden Light variants

Giyuu - post 25 (original isekai au)

Giyuu dies to the slayer mark curse, wakes up in another world. He discovers Total Concentration Breathing acts as a form of this world's magic, and goes to find out more. Asks some shinobi for tips and trains on his own, he passes a genin exam & additional kenjutsu exam because he mentioned being proficient, and is assigned guidance from chuunin Gekko Hayate (hes not worth taking up a whole jounin sensei nor does it make sense to put him with 12 year olds, a single chuunin aiming for tokubetsu jounin with a similar inclination towards bukijutsu is a good middle-ground). Hes a bit miffed at the D-ranks, but the transportation and delivery missions are much more tolerable than fence painting and weeding with one hand. One day while delivering something in the market district he hears screaming about a demon and bolts into action, but is astonished to find they're yelling "Demon!" about a child. A child running away from full grown adults throwing rotting food at him. He frowns, and follows after the child to assure that hes alright. He ends up comforting the child talking about two particular people in his life who he reminds him of, and ends up looking out for this kid in particular whenever hes out and about on D-ranks

+ Junpei

Junpei spawns alongside Giyuu post-Mahito but without the transformation thing. no potato junpei. He does have Moondregs as a summmons contract though. He & Giyuu figure out theyre 1.alive, 2. from different time periods, and 3. Lost. Giyuu's used to burying his feelings to function, and (tries) to help Junpei through his post-traumatic death breakdown. Junpei says he just wants to die and Giyuu forwards a bit of wisdom from an old friend of his- he smacks him upside the head. They have to live for their loved ones now, they'd want them to be happy. Whats something that makes him happy? Moondregs, the manifestation of his ability to defend himself now. He summons an iiiitty bitty little Moondregs and questions why its so small now, Giyuu could feel something when he summoned it, but doesn't know what. First order of buisness it is: Find out why his Moondregs is so small now. And also maybe what that weird thing he felt when he summoned it was.
From here it follows similarly to the main au, go to Konoha, figure out what chakra is, train to get better at it, genin exam, Gekko Hayate- but this time Junpei also loses his shit at a bunch of stronger people bullying someone weaker than them for literally no reason. Junpei explodes, berating them for throwing garbage at a 4 year old (im 5!), they say something about it being a demon, Giyuu shuts that down with a lethal look in his eyes and corrals the two kids away from the populated area to clean the garbage off of them. With Junpei's presence Giyuu's role as a caretaker is much more active because thats his monkey making a fuss in the local circus, so he's gotta step in...

Sabito - Yamanaka

Sabito dies to the hand demon but wakes up nearby a bustling city. His memories are a bit spotty but he figures this isn't his world, he doesnt recall magic being real. And the world maps are all completely wrong. He hears word of a clan of mind-readers, and goes to them to confirm that he's not insane. Inoichi mind-walks him to deny his outlandish claim, but confirms it instead. The concept of intradimensional travel is extremely dangerous information, so he quietly has Sabito adopted into the clan to keep that entire situation a secret from the wider ninja world. Sabito's left in the care of a woman named Yamanaka Yachi, a mother of two; his now older sister Mamorou, and younger brother Ateru.

Slayer Mark SabiGiyuu

2 seperate universes; one canon, one with their roles swapped, Sabito & Giyuu both die of their slayer mark curse at 25 and spawn in the same world of Naruto. Giyuu's missing his right arm from mid bicep down, Sabito missing his left from the mid forearm, both have the permanent presence of the slayer mark on their left cheek. Go to the nearest town to orient themselves as being in a different universe, go to Konoha to figure out their breath style being a form of chakra manipulation here, end up getting jobs at Tenten's parent's weapon shop (swordsmen) as well as the cheapest apartment avalible nearby; Naruto's complex. The edge of the building was miscalculated in planning, so that entire one side are 1-person suites instead of the planned 2 like the rest. SabiGiyuu get one of the 2-person suites on the top floor, a few doors down from Naruto's, the only people on the top floor. Their apartment is still a shithole, but its still far better than what naruto was given. They end up looking out for the kid, repairing stuff the landlord clearly isnt going to, dropping off proper groceries as well as teaching him to actually cook, preventing malicious actors from trying to break in or vandalize his home, etc...

Halloween au Sabito x Warring States (WIP)

Variant au where Sabito escapes the labyrinth in the warring states era instead. He takes up residence within Aburame territory and eventually becomes allied with the clan.

Tokyo Ghoul au x Warring States

Sabito Makomo Giyuu Tanjiro & Nezuko from Tokyo Ghoul Crossover au get isekai'd into naruto during the warring states era. Similar to Halloween au x No Tomorrow> x Warring States where they take residence within the territory of the Aburame clan. The Aburame spy on them with their bugs and know they're biological cannibals (minus Tanjiro) but instead of going 'kill it with fire' they try to be accomodating? The ghouls don't trust that for a fucking moment, but the Aburame are for real abt it. 'Can't help that they can't eat normal food, as long as they dont eat us we're fine with it'

Clan au x 4th Hokage era (WIP)

Sabito Makomo & Giyuu, along with their charges Tanjiro Nezuko Zenitsu & Inosuke, are from a now defunct AU of mine that has the worldbuilding of naruto. Sabito's a sealmaster and manages to pull off a space-time teleportation seal with everyone to escape a certain-death nuke-like explosion. The space-time seal sent them into a different universe, but they survived! Mostly. Sabito is extremely injured from the fight beforehand and the bit of explosion that went through with them. Hokage Minato thought the village was under attack, but the culprits seem genuine in the massive explosion not being an intentional attack.

Hatake-Uzumaki Sabito (WIP)

Sabito dies to the hand demon, gasps awake in an unknown forest with an unknown white-haired man, confused because he can't remember anything except the fact he should be dead. Sakumo takes him in because he has the chakra affinity of a Hatake. Sakumo's dreaded mission happens, his reputation tanks, Sabito finds him about to kill himself about it and tells him off for being fucking stupid. Exploration of this change, Sabito's a swordsman (though he only remembers bits and pieces of how he learned, the muscle memory is strong) and learning chakra use to control his natural sensing, but he declines being a ninja like Sakumo & Kakashi.

Aozora

Team Sakonji: Tomioka Giyuu, Uzumaki Sabito, Orochi Makomo. Same generation as team Minato & team Chouza during the third war. On a mission Sabito & Makomo went MIA and after a few months of not finding anything, declared KIA. Giyuu is unaware that his teammates are alive, while Sabito & Makomo were kidnapped by a nutcase who intended to pull a Madara and manipulate them but they just killed him, his ramblings about becoming the Juubi jinchuuriki was extremely worrying though, and they ended up finding out about the Akatsuki group. Of the ancient manuscripts in the posession of their malicious saviour they decide that anything to do with uniting the biju is Extremely Bad, and create an opposing group 'blue skies' with the intent of protecting jinchuuriki. Sabito develops skill in fuuinjutsu from the stuff the nutcase had and develops a bunch of identity concealing seals, so none in their group are discovered even if their masks are removed.

Uzushio - Space-Time Travel

Sabito's half Uzumaki, Giyuu's a Yuki; Kirigakure had the bright idea to pretend to send cultural exchange envoys as a guise to infiltrate and find weaknesses from within. Giyuu & Tsutako were orphaned and took the name Tomioka instead of going with any of the rest of their clan, Tsutako died, at age 11 Giyuu went with the cultural exchange thing without knowing it was just a front. Sabito & Giyuu become best friends, but two years later Uzushio is destroyed by the combined force of Kiri & Kumo. Here it splits into two universes:

Sabito dies in the fall of Uzushio: Giyuu is utterly distraught and feels immense betrayal toward his 'home' village, ends up pledging his allegience to Konoha after being cleared by a Yamanaka, he fucking HATES kiri & kumo nin for killing his friend in the total genocide of the beautiful island village. Trains vigorously and fights during the Third war, stationed where people can keep a sharp eye on him since he is a foreign nin, ends up befriending Kushina because as a jinchuuriki she's also kept an eye on (so nothing happens to her) and also because she knew what Uzushio was like, they bond over the loss.

Giyuu dies in the fall of Uzushio: Sabito is utterly distraught at Giyuu's death and the utter destruction of his home. He manages to survive to the end and once the enemy forces leave he tweaks the island's barriers so they can't break through them again, and since theres no one else but him and he certinatly wont be telling anyone how to break them, no ones getting in unless he wants them to. He also activates a few emergency island-wide seals, a preservation/stasis type seal that halts the decay of many things, and the outer storm barrier that makes it nigh impossible to even reach Uzu. As the last Uzumaki alive on the island, he scours anything and everything to do with fuuinjutsu and becomes a sealmaster over the course of 12 years. Mildly insane from the total isolation surrounded by the corpses of his village for all that time, hes covered in seals of all sorts. Storage, various forms of concealment, barriers, chakra control, elemental chakra manipulation, muscle reinforcement- and quite a few stolen from other villages. Once he mastered stelth seals he went out to retrieve seals stolen from Uzu and frankly just grabbed anything related to sealing he found they had. Konoha was by far the best grab, with Tobirama's work being well above anything the other villages had (stole). The Hiraishin and Edo Tensei were particularly interesting, and his Shadow clone jutsu being put to good use in his hands (you can learn so much faster with more brains on the job!). After some serious thought about bringing the dead back from their rest, Sabito follows Tobirama's wisdom and lets the dead stay dead no matter how much he misses them (he doesnt want Giyuu to see the shell of a human he's become). But the hiraishin dabbles in space-time, now THAT is fucking INTERESTING. but aside from all that, his personal masterwork is the Archive Seal. Other villages put so much effort into destroying Uzushio's seal knowledge for being too powerful, a seal that holds all the sealing knowledge Uzushio held and more, its the single biggest 'fuck you' he could ever create. Whomever bears this seal has access to a sealspace with a time dilation aspect, and access to a library of everything related to fuuinjutsu as well as the ability to add to it. Unfortunately for everyone else, hes not inclined to actually share. so. But! back to space-time seals, he becomes obsessed with them and dedicates all his time to that.

Sabito succeeds in making a functional space-time seal! unfortunately, when he activated it it was so intensive it knocked about a month's worth of memory out of him. Fortunately, he doesnt really give a shit, because it WORKED. Literally nothing else matters right now, because wide-eyed staring at him is a man he's never been able to meet-
Giyuu.

So, what happened was, when he activated it, he ripped through the fabric of his universe where giyuu died, the neighboring universe where he died (where Giyuu was out on a mission and happened to be right over a chakra ley-line), then they both got jettisoned upstream through time and spat out during the Warring States era. Imagine a deer running through the woods, coming across a road, and suddenly getting rammed by a 16-wheeler. Giyuu was the deer. Sabito was the truck.

anyway, good luck to these two trying to fit their jagged edges back together while being attacked from all sides.

Hatake

Nabbed a bunch of white-haired characters from other anime (and an oc), few tweaks here and there, bam now they're wayward Hatake who grouped together and made their way to Konoha where they heard some of the clan settled.
heavy fanon Hatake influence; originally from Iron, beast clan akin to the Inuzuka who has a clan-wide summons contract with wolves, pack-oriented, fangs, non-chakra users/civilians of the clan were farmers

The Great Hatake Coalescence/Migration starts in Land of Water, the oldest half-Hatake half-Yuki Toshiro and her partner Momo recognize Kiri's getting antsy about bloodlines and wisely decides to ditch the continent altogether. But! ends up coming across another half-hatake-uzumaki, Sabito, whos pack bonded with another half-yuki, Giyuu, and some other bloodline decended kid, Makomo. They're related, and it doesnt feel right to leave a couple of preteens in dangerous territory, so they come with. They also end up finding another half-hatake orphan in a rather abusive situation, and take along Enoki.
Once they make it to the mainland, the idea is to head to Iron where the Hatake clan originated and hopefully find the clan there. Through the peninsula land of Woods into land of Fire and northwards along the eastern coast they end up finding full blooded Hatake twins and their twin Uzumaki pair, Shiragoroshi, Shiroishi, Akai, and Makoto. Further north around the border to land of Hot Water they find Inuyasha & Kagome, and actually in the country find another full-blooded Hatake, Inu. Continuing north and along the border to land of Frost they find Killua, Alluka, Canary, and Gon. Finally going west through land of Rice they make it to land of Iron.
Unfortunately, theres no centralized Hatake Clan here like they thought anymore. They did however, find more half-hatake with a friend group fully willing to pack up and move across countries to Konohagakure, where they're sure theres an actual Clan for them to blend in with. If theres not, there definitly were and Konoha would probably accept some more Hatake. And Uzumaki- theres three of them in the pack now. Luckily! There ARE Hatake in Konoha! Its only two but they have clan grounds and all that important jazz. Looks like they could use some help anyway- by the time they finally arrive its after Sakumo's mission gone wrong, and his reputation is slowly degrading and affecting the safety of his only son. Instead of killing himself about it, he's much too busy having that Clan Head title actually MEAN something with the arrival of twenty five new clan members. They DO help with keeping Kakashi safe though, now how to keep them out of the direct line of fire in the soon-coming Third war...

Hatake-Uzumaki Sabito

Orphan Sabito, same age/slightly older than Kakashi; taught seals by Kushina (and thus also Minato and Jiraiya a little bit) and was with Kushina as an extra sealmaster during her birth process/the Kyuubi Attack. Instead of letting Minato split the Kyuubi in half (ouch) to seal it in himself & die and also in his 3 second old son, Sabito seals the entirety of the Kyuubi within himself. Kushina's dying act is to seal some of her chakra within Naruto, and Minato managed to survive the whole ordeal. Sabito went into a coma from the strain of the sealing, and in said coma managed to reach an accord with Kurama because he sealed him for his safety, everyone else's was kinda secondary to Kurama's. Kurama was being controlled by some madman and idiot prodigy Minato's only bright idea was to rip the tailed beast in half with the intent to just die with one half of it and permanently ruin the life of his son with the other. Who the fuck put this dumbass in charge. Sabito wakes up from his coma as the guardian of a tailed beast, his & Kurama's acceptance of eachother displayed on his face as bright red whisker scars, akin to those on a kitsune mask.
(HC: all the kyuubi jinchuuriki have some number of whisker scars. Theyre formed as a sort of backlash from denying Kurama's chakra (denying Kurama, since he IS chakra), and are usually black/burnt-in as a result; Sabito's the first to have red scars, a well of active bijuu chakra)

Yokai Au

a rural Lord got the bright idea to keep yokai as a status symbol and captured Giyuu, a yosuzume. At first he was extremely well cared for and paraded around, but once the novelty wore off, he just wasn't a very powerful yokai. relatively lame. He did have his uses though. Some feathers intentionally stripped for exclusive jewelry, and his powers are particularly useful for torturing enemies- because of his own shoddy mental state at having to listen to terrified screams his inflicted nyctalopia had an additional anxiety-inducing aspect. One night his wardens haphazardly left his cage unlocked and he escaped, handicapped by his lack of flight feathers due to his own stress plucking, slight malnourishment, dehydration, & muscle atrophy from not being able to move around normally.
He manages to make it to a mountain before collapsing, said mountain happens to be the territory of a kitsune, Sabito, who felt another yokai's weak/waning power/life force and went out searching for it. Ended up finding Giyuu and taking him to his shrine to nurse him back to health

Dragonslayer Au (WIP)

tumblr post
fantasy au, influenced slightly by Freiren. Sabito/Giyuu + Sabito/Uzuis

Theïkós

Weird amalgamation of mythologies, heaviest influence being greek myth. plot unclear tbh i scrapped the original idea and retroactively included this older one-off bit based off Cult of Dionysus (the Orion Experience). This one ended up co-opting the 'golden light' bit bc i like it with Sabito so much

Note 1: only web page avalible right now, adding stuff as i actually make it instead of wasting time building empty pages im gonna end up never filling/spending all my time designing-redesigning-trashing || Note 2: under construction; lots of aus missing/yet to be added Home
